Information about the processing of personal data in the SOWtrack project

The SOWtrack project (hereinafter referred to as the project) aims to develop new ways to assess the welfare of sows and piglets on farms

The purpose of this statement is to provide information about the personal data processed in the project, where the personal data comes from and how it is used. The rights of data subjects are explained in more detail at the end of the statement.

5. The purpose of processing personal data

The purpose of processing personal data is to communicate with users of the application. We use personal data, if necessary, for electronic communication related to the application. We process personal data, if necessary, for deleting a user account and for application development, such as responding to feedback and collecting user experiences.

6. What information does the register contain?

We collect and process the following information:

  • First and last name
  • E-mail address
  • Information entered on the feedback/contact form

7. From what sources is personal data collected?

Personal data is collected during registration on the SOWtrack website. The database is only visible to the website administrator.

8. Sensitive personal data

The application does not process special categories of personal data (i.e. sensitive personal data) pursuant to Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

9. Legal basis for processing personal data

The processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) where the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party.

10. Recipients of data and transfer of data outside the European Economic Area

Personal data will not be disclosed further. Data will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area.

11. Retention period of personal data

The data collected in the register will only be retained for as long and to the extent necessary in relation to the original purposes for which the personal data was collected, as described in section 5. The personal data stored in the register will be retained as long as the application is in use or when there is no longer a legal basis for its processing.

12. Protection of personal data

The data in the register is protected from unauthorised viewing, modification and destruction. The protection is based on access control, personal user IDs and restrictions on access rights. The rights to view and modify the data are limited according to the tasks of the personnel.

13. Using data for automated decision-making

Personal data will not be used for automated decision-making, including profiling (Articles 13.2 (f) and 14.2 (g) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

14. What rights does the data subject have?

The contact person for matters related to the rights of the research subject is the person mentioned in section 3 of this notice.

Data subject rights

According to the Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right to:

  • to access data
  • rectify data
  • erase data and be forgotten
  • restrict data processing
  • transfer data from one system to another
  • object to data processing
  • not to be subject to automated decision-making.

Right of appeal

You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman if you believe that the processing of your personal data has violated applicable data protection legislation.
